Representatives of the GS SOIL project were also involved at the GlobalSoilMap.net Workshop, 20-24 JUNE 2011 at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy. A presentation of the GS SOIL activities was provided. GlobalSoilMap.net is a global consortium that has been formed with the aims to make a new digital soil map of the world using state-of-the-art and emerging technologies for soil mapping and predicting soil properties at fine resolution. This is an initiative of the Digital Soil Mapping Working Group of the International Union of Soil Sciences IUSS.
